The Slow Studio
The Slow Studio is an ethically handcrafted label, born in London, with its heart in India. We revel in all things classic and homegrown, but no means ordinary; an antithesis to thoughtlessly made, break-neck runway 'trends'. We consciously eschew the 'Faster, cheaper, more' philosophy, in favour of a more fulfilling, mindful way of life. In our space 'slow' is sexy.
A 2012 NIFT graduate, specialising in jewellery & precious products, I’ve previously served as a senior product designer at the esteemed design houses of Hidesign & Tanishq in India, before going to the UK in 2015 to pursue my masters on a full merit scholarship, from the prestigious London College of Fashion. After successfully completing my degree (MA Fashion Entrepreneurship & Innovation) with an award-winning dissertation on ‘slow’ fashion, I came back to India in 2017 to bring 'The Slow Studio' to life. I currently lead the Design Cell at NIMAI, apart from handling the independent workings of my label as a separate, autonomous entity.
Within barely few months of the launch of The Slow Studio, I was covered under an esteemed list of ‘Female jewellery designers, headlining Cosmo’s accessories must-have list’, in Cosmopolitan India’s September 2018 ‘Accessory special’ cover. In the shoot, I am donning jewellery from my debut collection, ‘Binary’ (Images on next page).
My brand was the youngest of the 12 brands in this honourable list, which included the likes of Eina Ahluwalia & Roma Narsinghani, to name a few.
